The user has to install the Easy Cap driver first before recording any video files with Easy Cap.
I'm trying to install the EasyCAP on a GuruPlug (Kirkwood ARM). In the past I've been able to get decent results using the old staging EasyCap driver in kernel 3.5.3. I've compiled the stk1160 with the 3.7.9 kernel and I get this when I plug the EasyCap in: usb 1-1.3: new high-speed USB device number 3 using orion-ehci. Tip: Please do not plug Easy Cap into your computer when you are installing the driver. Please disconnect the Easy Plug from your computer if it was accidentally connected with the computer during the process of the driver installation.
1,Install the driver by the disk.
A, Put the disk into the computer. The system will run the disk automatically, and the installation screen will pop up as below.
Please choose “Install Driver” and follow the instructions.

If you want to review or change any of your installation settings, click Back, Click Cancel to exit the wizard.
C, The screen of Setup Status as below indicates the installation status. It will take a few minutes to finish installation. You can stop installation by click “Cancel”.
D, The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed USB2.0 Capture Device. Click Finish to exit the wizard.
E, Please pay attention to the reminding notes after the installation of the driver as following.
2,Install by online download
A, Open the downloaded folder and double click “Setup.exe” to run the installation program.
B,USB2.0 Capture Device Setup is preparing the InstallShield Wizard, which will guide you through the rest of the setup process. Please wait.
Tip:If you have plugged this device on the computer, please up-plug it before continuing the installation.
C,Click Install to begin the installation.
If you want to review or change any of your installation settings, click Back, Click Cancel to exit the wizard.
D, The screen of “Setup Status” indicates the status of installation as followed. The setup process will take a while. You can quit the installation by clicking “Cancel”.
Tip:Please choose “Continue Anyway” if the following remind information emerges.
E: Please wait until the system finishes copying the relevant driver files. When the copying is finished, the installation is finished. Click Finish to exit the wizard.

3,Use “Found New Hardware Wizard” to install the Easy Cap driver. When the Easy Cap is connected to the computer, “Found New Hardware Wizard” will be initiated automatically.
